Japanese Snowbell

"Styrax japonicus"

The Japanese snowbell is grown for its fragrant lovely white bell shaped flowers which blossom in early summer. The small hanging flowers bloom when other species have finished flowering. Japanese snowbell form interesting oval fruit during the summer which ripen in August and persist through autumn. Seedlings are well branched and have some fibrous roots. They can be trained into single trunk and forest bonsai and are easy to grow and train. Each tree is full of small branches and has been well established and wired. Add an early summer blossoming bonsai to your collection.
